On 30 October 2013 Norman Roberts, acting chair of St Helens Senior Voice (on the right of the picture), presented Cllr Barry Grunewald, Leader of St Helens Council (centre), and Cllr Joe Pearson, Cabinet member for Health and Social Care and chair of the Health and Well Being Board (on the left), with copies of their survey of housing and older people called ‘More than bricks and mortar’.
The report, which took six months to complete including the survey, were carried out with the assistance of Care & Repair England. See Helens Report Final October 2013
The Councillors have promised they will look closely at the recommendations, they will get responses from officers responsible and will attend St Helen’s Senior Voice AGM in February to respond to any further questions. Wendy Cocks of Care & Repair England said “They were really listening and looking to us for some answers. It was a satisfying meeting and we look forward to more work together.”
