Briefing on main housing references in Care Act 2014 guidance from Care & Repair England

On 23rd October 2014 the Department of Health published the detailed Statutory Guidance (500 pages) which tells local authorities how they have to implement the new law.

The Guidance has major implications for housing and housing service providers.

The good news is that:

* Housing &/or accommodation is mentioned in the majority of chapters. There is a specific housing section in Chapter 15: Integration, co-operation & partnerships.

* There is extensive reference to information & advice, including integration with housing advice; adaptations, community equipment, handyman & home improvement agencies are all specifically mentioned

We hope that this summary is useful – Briefing on main housing references in Care Act Guidance Oct 14

Please do tell us about examples of local good practice with regard to housing being included in health & care integration.
